OnStage 6yrs to 16yrs
Students in OnStage attend for 3 hours per week, where they study an hour each of dramatic arts
voice coaching and dance technique. ACT ONE is far more than just a stage school, it is a meeting
place where children and teenagers aged 6 – 16 can meet every week and socialise together whilst
discovering new talents.
A range of carefully selected drama games and technique exercises are used to develop self-
confidence and performance skills. We encourage individual expression and focus on developing the
use of their own thoughts and feelings in their work. A variety of script work, improvisations and
games will form an integral part of this class, as well as working on Summer and Christmas Shows. We
focus on learning basic Jazz Technique and a variety of modern styles including street & hip hop.
Students will learn how to use and shape their bodies, as well as strengthen posture and improve
coordination Students will work on improving their vocal strength and begin to understand the
importance of breathing techniques, rhythm and voice work. They will be introduced to a variety of
musical scores (Pop, Modern and West End).
OnStage is totally inclusive and we make sure every child has the same opportunities to progress.
We
promise that every student will have a worthwhile part to play in each production – even if we
have to
write a show to make this happen! There are 3 major performance opportunities each year,
and every
child has the chance to take on a major role on a ‘rota style’ system.
If you wish to sign up, arrange for a free trial session by calling our office or call in before the start
of a
class and meet the staff. Each new student is given a buddy for their first session, to ease them in
gently and meet a friendly face.
